ISQ in Concert

The Isidore String Quartet presents a program tracing the rich tradition of the string quartet from Haydn and Mendelssohn to two distinctive voices in contemporary American music. The program features Haydn’s F-minor Quartet, Op. 20 No. 5, Billy Childs’s String Quartet No. 4, “American Mosaic,” Brittany J. Green’s Lead Me Home., and Mendelssohn’s deeply expressive String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80. The performance takes place at Bonn’s historic Beethovenhalle as part of Beethovenfest, a festival whose history with the hall and its predecessors dates to the first Beethoven Festival in 1845; following its extensive restoration, the Beethovenhalle reopened in 2025 as a renewed home for music and cultural life in the city.
